Lucas Rodriguez
Lucas is the founder of Cuidado Sostenible, where he promotes the integration of sustainability into the healthcare sector through training, consultancy, and research.
He has over 14 years of experience in healthcare, initially as a nurse and later as an advanced practice nurse. In recent years, he has worked as a Senior Sustainability Manager within NHS organisations, leading strategies towards Net Zero.
He holds a PhD in carbon footprinting in emergency care services and also teaches on the Nursing Degree programme at the University of Huelva.
His work focuses on making sustainability practical, evidence-based, and applicable to improving the quality of care.
Macarena Romero
Macarena is part of the Cuidado Sostenible team, where she contributes a strong scientific and methodological foundation to training programmes and consultancy in sustainability within the healthcare sector.
With an extensive academic background in Health Sciences, she has dedicated her professional career to teaching, research, and knowledge dissemination.
She holds a PhD and is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Huelva, where she promotes the generation of evidence and the development of research lines on sustainability in healthcare settings. Her approach combines scientific rigour with an accessible, approachable style, helping to ensure that research findings are understandable and applicable for professionals seeking to transform the healthcare sector.
